3 tips for Hiring a Clear Marquee

We love our clear marquees at The Party Hire Company, they look amazing and what could be better than your guests celebrating under the stars, in a crystal clear marquee lit by fairy lights….stunning.

After taking delivery of brand new clear marquee we have been so happy to supply our couples with the best quality German designed and manufactured product available on the market.  We have been thrilled to complete a number of jobs in the Central Coast, Hunter Valley and Newcastle regions.

But….while a white marquee will reflect heat,  a clear marquee can get very hot if exposed to the sun, remember it is really like a large green house, great for growing tomatoes but not so fabulous for a wedding lunch.  Daytime temperatures have been measured at 55 degrees and more in a clear marquee which is in the sun.  This is not an ideal environment for those people setting up the marquee before the wedding, a daytime wedding or for flowers or candles placed on tables for decorations.

So if you are looking to hire a clear marquee for your wedding there are 3 main things to consider:

Time of Year
Clear marquees really come into their own in our cooler months.  Early spring and autumn are great, but a winter wedding really is fabulous in a clear marquee.  The warmth inside is perfect for guests and those crystal clear winter nights are stunning when viewed from inside a clear marquee roof.  (You can also take advantage of some great winter savings!)

Positioning
If you are sold on a clear marquee, where you position it will make a big difference. Finding a shady spot at your venue is key, this will shield your marquee from the sun and help with the set up and decoration of your marquee as well as the temperature inside once your wedding begins.

Time of Day
Along with positioning your marquee in the leafy spot, the time of your wedding is crucial, lunchtime weddings in the summer are not the ideal conditions for a clear roof, but a wedding that starts in the evening is much better.  Walls can be folded back to take advantage of any breezes and the marquee will cool down considerably once the sun has gone to bed.  Also that is when inside lighting really looks magical and takes your big day to the next level.

I really like the idea of using a clear marquee for a winter party or wedding. First, I just love winter, and I agree that the best stargazing can be done during this time of year. So, why not take advantage of it? There are not many other ways you can stargaze comfortably in the winter.

I've been looking at marquee options for my wedding, and am so glad I came across this article! I think a clear marquee would be very cool, but it's good to know that they can heat up so quickly. It's been a really warm season so far, so I'll have to see if it's going to cool down anytime soon before I decide to go with a clear or opaque marquee. Thanks!

It makes sense that you will need to consider the time of year as well as the time of day you will need the marquee. You make a good point about how winter can be a great time for a clear marquee because of the warmth that is trapped inside. I also like the idea of being able to look at the clear sky. My company is throwing an outdoor holiday party, so I will have to see if we can rent a clear marquee.

Clear marquee also makes the whole venue feels bigger and at the same time you don't have to be worried about the weather.

Clear marques are perfect for winter and summer. There's nothing better than a clear night sky where your party guests can look at the stars whilst in the warmth of the marquee.

Clear marquee actually makes you less claustrophobic of the space in the venue. You can do stargazing or see the trees above or fireworks above your head.
